Overview:
We are excited to announce a call for proposals for the AI for Development Conference (AI4d) in Barcelona on October 28. The one-day event at Barcelona’s Norrsken Social Impact Tech Hub will convene a diverse group of partners from the tech and development sectors. The day will center on the exploration of GenAI’s applications in international development focusing on potential future advances and followed by a rooftop reception.
Conference Theme:
The core theme of the conference focuses on the role of AI in driving sustainable growth and addressing global challenges through innovative applications. We invite submissions that critically examine the ethical dimensions of AI applications in international development, with a focus on promoting local perspectives and addressing biases in AI technologies.
Topics of Interest:
We welcome submissions on a broad range of topics related to AI applications in international development, including:
- Ethical considerations in AI algorithm development and deployment
- Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in AI research and practice
- Demonstrations of innovative use cases of AI in development and humanitarian work
- AI for cultural preservation and indigenous knowledge systems
- Power dynamics in AI partnerships between developed and developing countries
- Ensuring accountability and transparency in AI-driven development projects
Submission Guidelines:
Authors are invited to submit extended abstracts or full papers adhering to the following guidelines:
- Format: Submissions should be in PDF format,
- Length: Full papers should be between 1-2 pages, including references.
- Language: Submissions may be in any language.
- Submission: All Interested parties should submit their proposals to info@developmetrics.com and copy jack@developmetrics.com, with the subject “AI Applications in International Development” by COB July 31st CET time.

Review Process:
