Global Digital Evidence Mapping

A reusable knowledge resource for digital-development learning, advisory work, and strategy.

Project overview

What this project was built to help with

This digital evidence map made USAID portfolio records and Development Experience Clearinghouse material easier to search, compare, and reuse. The resource curated evidence on digital interventions and reported success levels so teams could identify effective approaches, draft evidence-backed narratives, and avoid starting strategy work from disconnected archives.

Project story

Reusable evidence for digital strategy and learning

Digital-development evidence was spread across project records, DEC documents, country examples, and portfolio materials. Teams needed a way to find what had already been learned, understand reported intervention success, and reuse evidence in strategy, advisory work, and learning products.

The evidence map curated prior digital-development material into a resource that could support search, synthesis, and narrative drafting. It helped teams move from archive hunting to structured comparison, making it easier to find examples, identify effective approaches, and use digital portfolio evidence in decisions and communications.

Decision problem

Digital-development teams needed a practical way to find, compare, and reuse evidence spread across USAID portfolio records, Development Experience Clearinghouse documents, project reports, and country examples. The goal was to make evidence useful for strategy, advisory work, and learning rather than leaving it buried in archives.

What the work involved

1

Mapped digital-development records into a reusable knowledge resource, including evidence about interventions, reported results, and success levels.

2

Created a structure that helps teams search prior projects, identify stronger examples, and reuse learning in strategy and advisory workflows.

3

Supported drafting and evidence curation use cases so teams could move from scattered digital project records to evidence-backed narratives and decisions.

Outcome

Faster reuse of digital-development evidence across strategy, advisory, and learning workflows.
